He worked for a short time at St Luc’s University Hospital in Brussels but in 1983 Dr. Vinh decided to immigrate to the US where he joined his older brother, a former POW from Vietnam. Dr. Vinh started his new life in America by studying to pass the equivalent MD for a foreign medical doctor while working odd jobs for a living. After 2 years of working diligently as a research specialist at Louisiana State University Eye Center, he was selected for a 3 year pediatric training program at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and successfully completed the program in June, 1990.
Dr. Vinh returned to Southern California in 1990 and started his private medical practice which provides care predominately to children of immigrant families from Mexico and Vietnam. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Vinh has continued to serve in Nhan Hoa’s Governance Board and to participate actively in many humanitarian activities in Vietnam. In his leadership position at Nhan Hoa, he has focused on the particular tasks of expansion; improvement of the healthcare center facilities, services and equipment; and quality of care for patients. In Vietnam Dr. Vinh gives advice to and financially assists different medical, educational and social projects, especially those related to people of ethnic minorities, orphans, malnourished children, the elderly, the sick and the poor.
